ORLANDO, Fla.—The University of Hawai'i cheerleading squad is in Orlando, Fla. this week to compete in the 2020 Universal Cheerleaders Association Collegiate National Championships. The competition will take place January 17-19, 2020 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Hawai'i will return to compete in the prestigious competition after taking a year off from Nationals. Hawai'i has always been known as one of the nation's most innovative and creative teams and a perennial power placing in the Top 10 for all 16 times during a 22-year span. In 2005 the 'Bows finished a program-best third place. In 2018 the UH cheerleaders came in fifth place.
Teams will be judged on crowd participation and skills—including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, tumbling and overall impression.
