SEATTLE – The Hawai'i track and field team wrapped up action in Seattle with another solid showing highlighted by program top 10 performances and conference-leading marks Saturday at the UW Invite.
The Rainbow Wahine closed out the weekend by posting four more program top 10 marks while
Lilian Turban extended her MPSF lead in the high jump. Turban won the event for the second straight week by clearing 1.82m (5-11.5) and set a season-high.
Samaria Vital led the way for the UH throwers by moving up the school top 10 list in the weight throw. Vital posted a toss of 16.84m (55-3) to move up to No. 8 all-time in program history.
UH's freshman sprint duo of
Nora Fischer and
Amelie Fairclough each moved up the program top 10 list in the 400m. Fischer moved into No. 3 all-time at UH with a time of 56.15 while Fairclough improved upon her seventh-best time in program history, clocking a 57.54.
The Rainbow Wahine closed out the meet by posting the No. 2 4x400m time in school history. The relay squad of Fairclough, Fischer,
Catherine Touchette and
Isabella Kneeshaw crossed the line in 3:45.69 and sit second to only UH's relay team from a year ago that ran 3:40.51 to win the MPSF title.
The Rainbow Wahine are back in action next week at the Riverfront Invitational in Spokane, Wash. beginning Friday.
