Water Polo Announces 2026 Schedule

HONOLULU — The back-to-back Big West champion University of Hawai'i women's water polo team announced a 19-game 2026 schedule that includes three early-season tournaments and five home contests.

The Rainbow Wahine are set to open the season Jan. 16-18 in Fresno, Calif., at the Fresno State Polopalooza for a third consecutive season, with matches against San Jose State, California and Michigan.

UH hits the road again for two more tournaments, beginning with four matches at the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. The 'Bows then play in the Barbara Kalbus Invitational hosted by UC Irvine on Feb. 13-15. The matchups for both tournaments will be announced at a later date.

The 'Bows return to Irvine, Calif., to open Big West play on the road against the Anteaters on Feb. 27. They'll then play at Long Beach State on March 1 in a rematch of the last two Big West Championship finals.

UH begins its home schedule on March 7 by hosting UC San Diego at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

A two-match Northern California road trip follows, with a conference contest at UC Davis (March 13) and a rematch with Cal on March 15 in Berkeley.

UH closes out the regular season with a four-game homestand, beginning with a matchup against 2025 NCAA runner-up USC on March 18 at the DKAC.

The Rainbow Wahine resume conference play with games against CSUN (March 20) and UC Santa Barbara (March 28) before hosting Australia in an exhibition contest on April 2. The regular season concludes with Senior Night against Cal State Fullerton on April 3.

The 2026 Big West Women's Water Polo Championship will be held April 10-12 at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center in Long Beach, Calif. The champion secures an automatic berth to the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championship, set for April 24-26 at the Canyonview Aquatic Center in La Jolla, Calif.

Second-year UH head coach James Robinson looks to build on an outstanding season where he was named Big West Coach of the Year after leading the Rainbow Wahine to a 22-5 season. The 'Bows captured the Big West regular-season and tournament titles on their way to a second straight semifinal appearance at the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championship.
