LA JOLLA, Calif. — The University of Hawai'i water polo team will add another postseason chapter to its series with California when the Rainbow Wahine take on the Golden Bears in the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championship quarterfinals on Friday at the Canyonview Aquatic Center in La Jolla, Calif.
The quarterfinal matchup between UH (16-5) and fourth-seeded Cal (14-7) is set for 11 a.m. Hawai'i Time (2 p.m. Pacific Time) and will be broadcast on NCAA.com.
UH will make its 10th NCAA Championship appearance after claiming a third straight Big West Championship title with a win over Long Beach State on April 12 in Long Beach, Calif. The 'Bows' run of three consecutive NCAA berths is the longest in program history.
UH and Cal will meet for the fourth time season and for the third straight year in the NCAA Championship.

OPENING SPRINT
- UH defeated Long Beach State 14-9 on April 12 to capture its third consecutive Big West Championship title and claim the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
- UH swept through the Big West regular-season schedule and conference championship for a third straight year. The Rainbow Wahine have won 29 consecutive conference matchups (regular season and championship) dating back to the 2024 season.
- UH has reached the national semifinals each of the last two years, defeating Princeton in the 2024 NCAA Championship quarterfinals, and Cal in last year's quarterfinals.

- Agatha Weston leads the Rainbow Wahine with 51 goals and a .586 shooting percentage. The sophomore earned MVP honors at the Big West Championship and was voted the Big West Player of the Year.
- Ariadna Temprano Xambó, the Big West Freshman of the Year, leads UH in total points (78) and is second on the team in goals (43) and assists (35).
- Goalkeeper Daisy Logtens earned All-Big West first-team recognition for the third straight year and enters the NCAA Championship with 157 saves (.465 save percentage) and 13 steals on the season.
- All five of UH's losses have come against teams seeded in the NCAA Championship's top four (three to Cal and one each against UCLA and USC).

- In the latest meeting, Agatha Weston led UH with three goals, while defensively, Daisy Logtens recorded 10 saves in the 10-8 loss in Berkeley, Calif.
