SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Southwest Regionals this week. All six Rainbow Wahine—Allaire Berl, Emma Forgac, Hanna Galindo, Greta Gull, Makeilah Nepomuceno and Sophie Rachor will all be playing at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis on the campus of the University of San Diego. The six-day tournament runs from Thursday, Oct. 16 – Tuesday, Oct. 21. The event will start with qualifying singles matches on Thursday, followed by main draw matches on Friday. The doubles competition will start on Friday as well.

Sophomore Nepomuceno leads UH into the Regionals with a 9-1 record thus far in the fall. She had a strong tournament at the Big West Fall Selection Event two weeks ago, finishing runner-up . Nepomuceno and doubles partner Galindo also lead UH going into this week with a 6-1 doubles record. Sophomore Forgac carries a 5-3 fall record into the Regionals. The doubles pairing of newcomers Rachor and Gull has gone 4-1 since joining forces.

Each of the 2025 ITA Woen's Division I Regional Championships will have a draw size of the following, (Singles: Minimum of 64 Main Draw, Minimum of 64 Qualifying) (Doubles: Minimum of 32 Main Draw, Minimum of 32 Qualifying). From this, the two singles finalists from each region (26) will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship. Meanwhile, the doubles champion from each region (13) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship. Selection criteria and acceptable draw size variations for each of the 2025 Women's Regional Championships will be released later this season.
