RAINBOW WAHINE NEWS & NOTES
- • This is the first road trip for the 2026–27 Hawai'i women's tennis team. The Rainbow Wahine swept Hawai'i Pacific in their season-opening UH Anuenue Invitational, going 10-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles.
• Hawai'i's two Filipino freshmen — Stefi Aludo and Tennielle Madis — will be making their UH debuts at the ITA Southwest Regional Championship. Aludo and Madis competed at the recent 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. The two were paired together in doubles, while Madis also competed in singles for Team Philippines.
• Also making her Division I debut this week is fellow UH freshman Małgorzata Bajorek, who hails from Krakow, Poland. During the Anuenue Invitational earlier this month, Bajorek went 3-0, all in straight sets, and added a doubles victory with partner Grete Gull.
• UH's lone senior, Hannah Galindo, returns to the courts after leading last year's UH team with a 13-4 singles record. The versatile Galindo played on Courts 3–6 in 2026. In doubles, she and partner Makeilah Nepomuceno recorded a 10-7 record on the No. 2 court.
• Junior Nepomuceno recorded a 3-0 record in the Anuenue Invitational, dropping just one set in the three matches. Last season, she posted a 6-10 singles record, all on the No. 2 court.
• Junior Emma Forgac saw limited action in the Anuenue Invitational, posting a win over Nicol Novak (HPU). Last season, she had a 2-6 record before going down with a season-ending injury.
• Sophomore Grete Gull won all three of her singles matches in the Anuenue Invitational in straight sets while going 1-0 in doubles with Bajorek. Last year, Gull played all her matches on the No. 1 court, ending with a 6-11 record. Both she and Nepomuceno earned All-Big West second-team honors in doubles while notching honorable mention honors in singles.
