The Rainbow Warriors captured the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead. UH's No. 3 duo of
Andy Hernandez and Snyder led things off with a 6-2 win over Nevada's Paul Theate and Maxime Contet. Hawai'i's No. 2 pair of
Karl Collins and
Diego Dalisay clinched the point with a 6-3 win over Youssef Kadiri and Remy Tregoures. On the No. 1 court, UH's Visaya and
Tianhao Hou were leading UNr's Lucas Hammond and Rayen Hermassi, 5-5 when the 'Bows secured the point.
Nevada, however would come out on fire to start singles, recording straight-set wins on Courts #2, 6, and 5 to take a 3-1 lead.Â
Snyder started to shift the momentum to the Hawai'i side by winning his match at No. 4 over Remy Tregoures, 7-5. 6-3. 77th-ranked Visaya then followed by holding off No. 121 Youssef Kadiri in a tie-breaker in the first set, then shutting out his opponent in the second for a convincing, 7-6 (5), 6-0 victory to knot the score at 3-3.
The match hinged on the No. 3 court between UH's Dalisay and Nevada's Paul Theate. Thead took the first set, but Dalisay rallied to take the second frame. In the third set, Dalisay jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Theate erased his deficit, winning the final three games in a row to clinch the win for the Wolf Pack, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
