HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i football team will travel to San Diego to open Mountain West play against rival San Diego State, Saturday, Oct. 5 at Snapdragon Stadium. The Rainbow Warriors (2-2, 0-0 MW) are coming off a bye week while the Aztecs (1-3, 0-0) dropped their third straight following a loss at Central Michigan. SDSU has a 12-4 advantage in the series at home, including 10 wins in the last 11 match-ups on the continent.

GAME STORYLINES
- This week's match-up is the 39th meeting between the teams with San Diego State holding a 25-11-2 advantage.
- The Aztecs have won 10 of the last 12 in the series and 19-of-23. SDSU has won four straight overall after UH won back-to-back games in 2018 and '19.
- SDSU has a 12-4 advantage in the series at home, having won 10 of the last 11. (includes 2020 game in Carson, Calif.)
- Five of the last six meetings have been decided by seven points or less.
- The teams have met every year since 2012 as members of the Mountain West, which the Aztecs have won 10 of the 12 match-ups. In those 12 meetings, UH has been held to 14 points or less nine times.
- UH (2-2, 0-0 MW) is coming off a bye week. Two weeks ago, Hawai'i evened its record following a 36-7 victory over Northern Iowa. The Warriors set season highs for points (36), total yards (528), passing yards (379), rushing yards (149) and first downs (29) in the win.
