Men's Volleyball 05.29.2024 2024 Men's Volleyball Season Review SEASON HIGHLIGHTS Hawai‘i (23-7) finished the year with its third consecutive 20-win season. UH’s 23 wins are tied for the 10th-most in a single-season and is the sixth 20-win campaign under head coach Charlie Wade. UH failed to make the NCAA Championship tournament for the first time since 2018, advancing as far as the Big West Championship semifinal round before falling to UC Irvine. UH held the AVCA No. 1 ranking for one week marking the sixth consecutive season Hawai‘i has held the top spot, which no other team in the country has done. Hawai‘i finished the year ranked No. 5 nationally, which marks the 21st time in program history that UH finished the year with a Top 5 ranking. UH’s 16-match win streak was tied for the fourth-longest in program history. Three Rainbow Warriors were named to the AVCA All-America teams — middle blocker Guilherme Voss (second team), setter Tread Rosenthal (honorable mention) and opposite Alaka’i Todd (honorable mention). Voss became a three-time All-American after earning second team honors in 2022 and first team in 2023. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native finished as the program’s all-time leader in hitting percentage (.510) and ranked No. 5 in block assists (385) and total blocks (433). Rosenthal was named the Big West’s Freshman of the Year, becoming the first UH player to win the Big West’s top freshman award. Voss and Rosenthal were named to the all-Big West first team. Voss earned first-team honors for the third consecutive year. Outside hitter Louis Sakanoko was named to the all-freshman team and received honorable mention honors. UH led the nation in attendance for the seventh consecutive year with an average of 6,297 per match. AWARDS & HONORS Three Rainbow Warriors were selected to the AVCA All-America team. BIG WEST AWARDS Tread Rosenthal was selected as the Big West Freshman of the Year. Three Rainbow Warriors were selected to All-Big West Conference. Louis Sakanoko was named to the All-Freshman team.
