MARICOPA, Ariz. – University of Hawai'i's
Emiko Sverduk tied for ninth place at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic after Thursday's final round at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
The Long Beach, Calif., native carded a final round 73 to finish even par 216 and a five-way tie for ninth place. After back-to-back bogeys on her 16
th and 17
th holes, Sverduk birdied the par-4 No. 12 hole to shoot 1-over for the day and post her best career collegiate finish.
The tie for ninth was her first-ever Top 10 and best finish by a Rainbow Wahine this season. In addition, her 216 total equaled the best 54-hole score by a UH golfer this season, tying
Focus Jonglikit's 216 at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
As a team, Hawai'i placed 15
th among the 21-team field with a 906 total that included a final round 297. Sacramento State captured the team title at 860, three strokes ahead of Long Beach State. New Mexico State's Emma Bunch took medalist honors at 9-under 207.
UH's
Jordyn Parr was having a stellar round until her final two holes of the day in which she posted bogey and double bogey to finish 1-under 71. Up to that point, she had four birdies and no bogeys through 16 holes. The Temecula, Calif., native finished in a tie for 47
th place at 9-over 225.
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were

th).
The tournament was UH's final tune-up for the Big West Championship, which runs April 14-16 in Las Vegas, Nev.
