MARICOPA, Ariz. – University of Hawai'i's
Emiko Sverduk carded a second round 3-under 69 and is tied for ninth at 1-under 143 after the first day of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, Wednesday, at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
The Long Beach, Calif., native carded rounds of 74 and 69 and is seven strokes off the lead held by Boise State's Leia Chung and New Mexico State's Emma Bunch. Sverduk rebounded from a 2-over first round to shoot 3-under in her second 18 which included five birdies and two bogeys.
The Rainbow Wahine sit in a tie for 16
th place at 609 (304-305). Sacramento State leads the team standings at 7-under 569, nine strokes ahead of Long Beach State.
