LA QUINTA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team is in a tie for sixth place after the first round of the Big West Championship Monday at the La Quinta Country Club.
The Rainbow Warriors fired a 302 on Sunday led by
Josh Hayashida's 2-over 74. The Honolulu native is in a tie for 14
th after recording four birdies and six bogeys on the day.
Cal State Fullerton hold the lead in the team standings at 7-under 281 followed by Long Beach State (286), Cal Poly (287), UC Irvine (290), UC Davis (299), UH, UC Santa Barbara (302), CSUN (307), and UC Riverside (312).
Individually, Fullerton's Tegan Andrews has the clubhouse lead at 9-under 63 while LBSU's Clay Seeber is four strokes back.

Kolbe Irei are tied for 20
th after carding 75 while
Tyler Ogawa is tied for 34
th after a 78.
Dane Watanabe is tied for 40
th place at 80.
The tournament continues with Round 2 on Monday. UH is paired with UCI and UCD with tee times beginning at 10:50 a.m. PT.
