CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Hawai'i track and field team capped off the final meet of the regular season with another solid day by its throwers while posting a pair of sprint event top 10s Saturday at the Oregon State High Performance Meet.
The Rainbow Wahine throwers completed a solid weekend by finishing 2-3 in the shot put while advancing two others to the final.
Hallee Mohr came in second with a toss of 14.16m (46-5.50) followed by
Samaria Vital in third with a personal best 13.63m (44-8.75), while
Valo Sopoaga came in sixth at 13.00m (42-8) and
Montserrat Montanes i Arbo PR'd with a mark of 13.46m (40-10.5) to finish eighth.
Isabella Kneeshaw set a personal best in the 100m dash, stopping the clock in 12.06 seconds to improve her No. 9 mark on the UH outdoor top 10 list. Kneeshaw finished fourth in the meet followed by
Alyssa Mae Antolin in fifth with a time of 12.10.
The UH 4x400m relay squad posted the No. 5 time in program history with a mark of 3:46.45. The team of
Kristin Cook, Kneeshaw, Antolin and
Amy Warrington – who already hold the school 4x100m relay record – posted a top five in their second different relay.
UH added a 1-2 finish in the triple jump, with
Tara Wyllie winning the event with a mark of 12.36m (40-6.75) as the only athlete to surpass 12.00m.
Chadelle Gregory finished runner-up in just her second triple jump appearance this outdoor season, jumping 11.84m (38-10.25).
The Rainbow Wahine open postseason action next week with the Big West Multis Championships, May 3-4 in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
