Mya'Liah Bethea blasted a home run in all three games last week en route to earning her second career Big West Field Player of the Week honor on Monday.
Bethea, a senior from Las Vegas, Nev., drove in a team-high eight RBI and scored five runs while going 6-for-9 at the plate to tie teammate
Izabella Martinez with a team-best .667 batting average in a three-game conference series against Cal State Bakersfield. Bethea slugged a team best 1.667 and stole a base for the first time this season. Currently, Bethea leads The Big West with 12 home runs, tying a career-high from a season ago. Hawai'i is now 11-5 in The Big West and 18-19 overall.
During UH's game one win versus Cal State Bakersfield, Bethea went a perfect 3-for-3 and hit her second career grand slam to cap off a 10-2 (5 inn.) win. In game two, Bethea drilled a two-run homer and scored two runs while going 2-for-3 at the plate. The series finale featured Bethea launched another two-run bomb for the Rainbow Wahine to secure their second season sweep of the season.
Bethea first earned the conference's weekly honor on Feb. 20, 2023 after belting three home runs on the road in UNLV's 2023 Desert Classic.
