LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf concluded the 2023-24 season with a seventh place finish at the Big West Championship Tuesday at the Spanish Trail Country Club.
The Rainbow Wahine carded a final round 315 for a 928 total, marking the second straight year that the team finished seventh at the conference tournament.
Long Beach State captured the team title with an 867 total while LBSU's Jasmine Leovao repeated as individual champion at 4-under 212.
Leading the way for UH was
Kellie Yamane, who tied for 16
th place at 12-over 228 after a final round 78.
Wendy Song and
Emiko Sverduk tied for 22
nd place at 17-over 233 while
Jordyn Parr tied for 25
th at 18-over 234.
Monica Johnson concluded her UH career with a 259 total and 44
th place. The Sydney, Australia native competed in 33 career tournaments for the Rainbow Wahine with five career Top 10 finishes. The highlight of her career was a win at the Pearl Collegiate Classic during her freshman campaign.
Yamane was UH's top finisher for the second time this season after leading UH at the Pac-12 Preview to kick off the spring season. The 'Aiea, O'ahu native completed her first season with the Rainbow Wahine after transferring from Hawai'i Pacific.
Sverduk and Parr also completed their first seasons at UH, competing in all nine tournaments. Sverduk finished second on the team in scoring with a 75.26 strokes per round average while Parr sported a 77.2 average. Song finished her second season also with a 77.2 average.
The 2023-24 campaign marked the second season for head coach
