SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – University of Hawai'i's
Blaze Akana carded a 4-over 74 in Round 2 of the 77
th Western Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Pasatiempo Golf Club.
The Honolulu native is 7-over 147 for the tournament and tied for 48
th place heading into Wednesday's final round. Akana rebounded from a triple bogey on No. 5 with birdies on Nos. 7 and 8 to make the turn at 1-over. His back nine consisted of one birdie and two double bogeys.
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors are in 13
th place with a 756 total.
Stanford leads the team standings at 709 while Arizona's Filip Jakubcik holds the individual lead.
