LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team was picked No. 1 in this week's AVCA/NVA Top 20 poll, ascending to the top spot for the first time this season after winning three matches in the OUTRIGGER Invitational over the weekend.
 
The Rainbow Warriors (17-1) jumped two spots from No. 3 last week and received 15 of the 23 first place votes. Long Beach State received the other eight first place votes and remained at No. 2. UH and LBSU meet this week in Long Beach, Calif., for a two-match conference series, Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at the Walter Pyramid.
 
Winners of their last 16 matches, the Warriors received the No. 1 ranking for the 76^th time in program history, which ties BYU for second all-time. In addition, this year marks the sixth consecutive season that Hawai'i has been picked No. 1 which no other school has accomplished.
 
Since 2019, UH has held the top spot for 47 weeks.
 
In addition, Hawai'i extended its streak of receiving a top four ranking to 90 (including preseason and final polls). The last time UH was ranked outside the top four was the final poll of the 2018 season.
