LONG BEACH, Calif. — The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team will look to maintain a place atop the Big West standings when the Rainbow Wahine take on Long Beach State on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif. The game will be televised on Spectrum SportsNet.
 
UH (15-9, 12-3 Big West) enters the game tied with UC Irvine for first place in the Big West race. The 'Bows and Anteaters have a two-game lead on third-place Cal Poly.
 
The Rainbow Wahine had a bye on Thursday and will face Long Beach State in their lone game this week. UH swept last week's homestand with wins over conference contenders Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara. The Rainbow Wahine drew the largest crowd of head coach Laura Beeman's 12-year tenure for "Beeman's Big Bash" and pulled out a rousing 68-64 win over UCSB on Feb. 17 to remain in first place in the conference.

• UH leads the all-time series with Long Beach State 26-22 and is 9-12 in Long Beach.

• UH fell to LBSU 62-48 in last season's visit to Long Beach. The game was moved to the Gold Mine due to a leak in the roof at the Walter Pyramid.

• The 'Bows won the first meeting of this season with Long Beach State 68-55 on Jan. 18 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Lily Wahinekapu led UH with 19 points and Ashley Thoms tied her career-high with four 3-pointers in a career-best 18-point performance.

• The Beach enters the game on a season-high three-game winning streak following a 69-67 win at CSU Bakersfield on Thursday. LBSU, led by first-year coach Amy Wright, started 1-7 in Big West play but has won five of its last seven to climb into a tie for seventh in the conference.

• Long Beach State leads the Big West in scoring offense at 66.4 ppg overall. UH is second in scoring defense at 56.0 points allowed per game.
