Tread Rosenthal were named Big West Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, after helping lead the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of victories over No. 5 Stanford last week.
Chakas averaged 5.43 kills per set on .550 hitting in the series. The Nea Smyrni, Greece native tallied a season-high 23 kills with only one error in 30 attempts in the rematch along with 15 kills, eight digs, and two blocks in the opener. The award marks his first this season and fourth of his career.
Rosenthal earned his third freshman award this season after leading the team to a .445 clip in the series. The Manhattan Beach, Calif., native averaged 10.29 assists per set along with a team-high four aces in the series. He also averaged 1.00 digs and 0.71 blocks per set.
On the year, Chakas currently ranks No. 3 nationally in both kills per set (4.29) and hitting percentage (.426) while Rosenthal is No. 8 in assists (10.03) and No. 15 in service aces (0.51).
The Rainbow Warriors have the week off before returning to the court next week against Missouri S&T, Thursday, Feb. 22 and Friday, Feb. 23 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
