KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i –
Josh Hayashida carded a final round 4-under 68 to lead the University of Hawai'i men's golf team at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate Saturday at the Mauna Lani North Course.
Hayashida, a sophomore from Mililani, O'ahu, posted six birdies and two bogeys on the day to finish the tournament at 4-under 212 and was UH's top finisher with a tie for 71
st place.
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors shot 5-under 283 on Saturday and finished in 17
th place at 16-under 848. No. 2-ranked North Carolina went wire-to-wire to capture the team title at 68-under 796, five strokes ahead of seventh-ranked Arizona State (801).
Individually, ASU's Wenyi Ding posted a final round 10-under 62 to win medalist honors going away with a 27-under 189 total.
Freshman
Dane Watanabe completed the tournament with a 1-under 73 to finish at 2-under 214 and 84
th place along with teammate
Kolbe Irei, who shot a 3-over 75 on Saturday.
Blaze Akana carded his best round of the week with a 2-under 70 and tied for 94
th place at 216.
Tyler Ogawa was one stroke back at 1-over 217 for a tie for 97
th place.
The Warriors will next host the 47
th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate next week at the Ocean Course Hokuala in Līhu'e, Kaua'i.
