Softball Releases 2025 Schedule

HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i softball team released its 2025 schedule on Monday. The Rainbow Wahine will play a 49-game slate that includes 31 home games beginning with the Bank of Hawai'i Paradise Classic, Feb. 6-8.
 
The 'Bows will be playing a geographically diverse schedule with its 14 non-conference opponents representing nine different conferences from across the nation.
 
Hawai'i will kick the season off hosting back-to-back tournaments—the Bank of Hawai'i Paradise Classic and the Spring Fling Tournament. Santa Clara, Saint Louis and Southern Indiana will all be competing for the Paradise Classic title. The Spring Fling tourney runs from Thursday, Feb 13 – Sunday, Feb. 16 and will feature Sacramento State, Utah Tech, Western Illinois and Cal State Bakersfield.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will then embark on their first roadtrip of the season. First UH will take on Cal Baptist on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in a single game before the 'Bows begin play in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic at the Big League Dreams complex in Cathedral City, Calif.. Hawai'i will play five games in the tourney beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 21 against BYU and Nevada. On Saturday, Feb. 22, the 'Bows will take on St. Mary's and on Sunday, Feb. 23 Hawai'i will battle LMU and San Diego State.
 
UH will close their non-conference schedule hosting the OUTRIGGER Invitational from Wednesday, Feb. 26-Saturday, March 1. Coming to Honolulu will be Howard, Jackson State and Washington.
 
This year, Hawai'i will be home for five Big West series and away for four. UH will begin their conference schedule at home with a three-game series against Long Beach State, March 7-8. The 'Bows' other home conference series are UC Davis (March 22-23), UC Riverside (April 4-5), and UC Santa Barbara (April 18-19). The final home series of the year will be against UC San Diego (May 2-3).
 
Hawai'i's road conference series will be at CSUN (March 14-15), Cal State Fullerton (March 28-29), Cal State Bakersfield (April 11-12)  and Cal Poly (April 25-26).

For the first time, The Big West will be hosting a conference tournament. The top six BW teams will advance to the Big West Championship which runs from May 7-10 and will be hosted at Cal State Fullerton's Anderson Family Field. 
 
The Rainbow Wahine return 14 letterwinners from last year's squad that recorded a 20-26 overall record and 13-12 mark to finish fourth in The Big West. Leading the 'Bows into 2025 are senior returning starters Izabella Martinez (catcher), Chloe Borges (centerfield/pitcher), and Addison Kostrencich (pitcher). Last year Martinez earned All-Big West second team honors after hitting .287 on offense while on defense she was ranked 12th in the nation and second in the BW throwing out 15 runners. Borges earned All-Big West honorable mention honors after playing solidly in centerfield when not pitching. she hit .277 overall with two doubles and a career-high eight home runs. Kostrencich was UH's primary starter last year finishing with a 12-10 overall record and a 3.79 ERA. She fired 14 complete games with two shutouts in 125.2 innings pitched.

The 'Bows welcome in 14 newcomers--including nine freshmen and five transfers for the 2025 season.
