HONOLULU—University of Hawai'i head softball coach
Bob Coolen announced the signing of Abby Sasaki on Friday. Sasaki is a 5-8 outfielder from Irvine, Calif. and Irvine High School. She is the fourth Rainbow Wahine to sign for the 2026 season.
Sasaki has earned all-league first team honors as an outfielder all three years of her high school career. She helped lead the Vaqueros to the CIF Finals for the first time in 30 years as she hit .529 as a sophomore. Last year as a junior, she was voted her team's Most Valuable Player by her teammates.
"Abby is an outfielder with outstanding instincts and a very good arm," says Coolen. "She is aggressive at the plate and is a good contact hitter. She'll fit into our style of outfielders that track the ball well and always looking for an assist at any base with a strong throw."
