KĀ'ANAPALI, Maui – University of Hawai'i men's golfers
Tyler Ogawa and
Anson Cabello shot even par 71 in the first round of the Kā'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational Saturday at the Royal Kā'anapali Course.
The pair are tied for 61
st place heading into the Sunday's second round. As a team, the Rainbow Warriors posted a 3-over 287 total and are tied for 19
th.
Oklahoma holds a two-stroke lead at 264 followed by North Florida (266), LSU and Indiana (268). OU's Jaxon Dowell has the individual lead after an 8-under 63 while a group of three golfers are one-stroke back.
Josh Hayashida carded 1-over 72 and is tied for 74
th while
Dane Watanabe shot 2-over 73 and is tied for 88
th place.
James Whitworth rounded out the UH contingent with a 4-over 75 and is tied for 110
th place.
Three Warriors are competing as individuals –

Quinn Murray (82; 123
rd).
The tournament continues with Round 2 on Sunday beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
