KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team posted a final round 312 Wednesday on the last day of the Nanea Invitational which was held at the prestigious Nanea Golf Club.
The Rainbow Wahine carded 935 total and placed 11
th in the final tournament of the fall season. Top-ranked Stanford went on to capture the team title at 850, nine strokes ahead of runner-up Arizona State (859). Stanford's Megha Ganne took medalist honors at 9-under 210, one stroke clear of teammate Meja Ortengren and Texas' Farah O'Keefe.
UH top finisher was
Maline Kraus, who shot 2-over 75 to finish with a 54-hole score of 10-over 229 and a tie for 39
th place. One stroke behind her was
Emiko Sverduk, who shot 76 on Wednesday for a 230 total and tie for 41
st.
Kellie Yamane finished with an 84 and 54
th place at 237 followed by
Mia Hirashima, who shot 78 for a 242 total and a tie for 56
th place.
Varnika S. Achanta rounded out the UH contingent with an 83 and placed 59
th at 250.
Wendy Song competed as an individual and placed 58
th after an 82 for a 248 total.
The Rainbow Wahine open the spring season with the Alice and John Wallace Classic, Feb. 15-17 in Palm Desert, Calif.
