HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team's 2024 season opener against SMU has been moved to Sunday, Jan. 7 at 3:00 p.m. HT  due to expected inclement weather on Monday when the match was originally scheduled for. The rescheduled dual match replaces the Rainbow Warriors' scrimmage that was supposed to be played on Sunday at the UH Tennis Complex.

The Rainbow Warriors return five letterwinners from last year's squad which posted an 11-9 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the Big West. The young Rainbow Warrior squad has just one senior, Guillaume Tattevin, who was a mainstay in the middle of the UH lineup last season splitting time between courts 3 and 4. Joining Tattevin as leaders on the roster of 10 are junior returnees Karl Collins and Andy Hernandez. Collins saw limited action in singles with a 4-2 overall record, but played consistently in doubles where he combined for a 10-6 overall doubles record. Hernandez posted a 2-7 overall singles record last year pling primaily at No. 5 in the lineup. Redshirt junior transfer Quinn Snyder joined the 'Bows after spending three seasons at Central Florida wher he recorded a 9-4 record last year. 

The SMU Mustangs come into Honolulu with three ranked players leading theim into 2024. Adam Neff is ranked at No. 88, Jerry Barton comes in at No. 98 and Eric Hadigan is No. 122. In cooubles they have one pair in the ITA rankings with No. 60 Julian Steinhaus and Huntley Allen.
