SERIES INFORMATIONOverall: First Meeting
FIRST SERVE
- Tusculum is one of two first-time opponents on UH's schedule this season along with second-year program Missouri S&T.
- Tusculum, a Division II independent located in Greeneville, Tenn., is in its fifth-year of competition after starting its program in 2020. The Pioneers, who finished 9-19 last season, are 0-3 against nationally ranked teams this season, most recently falling at home to No. 20 Charleston Sunday in straight sets.
- Tusculum is making its farthest road trip in program history. In 2022, the Pioneers played a two-match series at Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Ariz., dropping both matches in straight sets. Tusculum has never faced a Big West team in its history.
- Hawai'i and Tusculum have played one common opponent this season, Ball State. UH defeated the Cardinals in four sets last week in Muncie, Ind., while the Pioneers dropped a pair of matches in Muncie, one in four sets and one in straight sets.
- UH's lone loss this season occurred at home to Loyola-Chicago while Tusculum's lone win was on the road at King. Hawai'i is 3-1 at home while Tusculum is 1-3 on the road.
- UH has a 31-match win streak in the month of February dating back to the 2019 season. Of the 31 wins, 17 occurred at home. The Warriors have six matches scheduled this month, all at home. Hawai'i's last loss in February was against UC Irvine, Feb. 25, 2018 at SimpliFi Arena.
- During last week's three-match road trip, OPP Alaka'i Todd averaged a team-best 4.00 kills per set, hitting at a .471 clip, and had 10+ kills in all three matches. The senior posted a career-high 16 kills in the rematch with Purdue Fort Wayne.
- OH Spyros Chakas needs two aces to move into the school's Top 10 in career aces. Currently the senior has 97 aces. Naveh Milo is 10th with 99.
- Chakas has reached double figures in kills in each of his last four matches and in six of seven contests this season.
- Following this week's series, UH will host a two-match series against No. 4 Stanford, Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Friday, Feb. 9 at SimpliFi Arena.
