Fullerton, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i track and field team concluded the first stage of the Big West Championships by wrapping up the heptathlon event on Saturday at the Titan Track Complex with all three Rainbow Wahine recording new personal records.
Entering the day, junior
Anna Marx, sophomore
Sammie Gordon, and freshman
Catherine Touchette were on record pace individually; by the end of the day, all three left their marks.
Gordon led the way for the 'Bows finishing sixth overall with 4,778 points scored in the event, putting her name down in the UH record book at No. 6 all-time. Gordon's most decisive event of the day came in the 800m, where she finished second with a time of 2:22.18. She also tallied a fifth-place finish in the long jump but finished outside the top 10 in the javelin.
