Rowe Elevated To Associate Head Coach

HONOLULU – Hawai'i soccer head coach Michele Nagamine announced Wednesday that Kaula Rowe has been elevated to the role of associate head coach after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach on the Rainbow Wahine staff.

"This promotion is very well deserved," said Nagamine. "Kaula is a great coach and an incredible person. She has had success at all levels of the game because she works hard and cares deeply about her players. I appreciate her loyalty to our university and her passion for our community."

Rowe joined the program prior to the start of the 2021 season as an assistant coach, and has had major roles in recruiting and game planning over the last two seasons. In 2022, four UH players earned All-Big West recognition while finishing the season 6-6-3 overall. During Rowe's first year with the program in 2021, the Rainbow Wahine had three players named to one of the All-Big West teams.

Hawai'i has also thrived in the classroom during Rowe's tenure on the staff, as UH has had a combined 26 student-athletes earn Big West Academic Honor Roll recognition during her two seasons. Additionally, six were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team following the 2022 season.

Prior to returning home to Hawai'i, the Kamehameha Schools-Kapālama graduate spent time in Alaska as the executive director of the Wasilla Youth Soccer Association and head coach of the Bartlett High School girls soccer team from 2015-20. During her time at Bartlett HS, she was a three-time Anchorage School District Coach of the Year.

Rowe also spent time in Texas coaching with the San Antonio United Soccer Club, earning Club Coach of the Year honors in 2014. Before heading to the mainland, Rowe spent four seasons as the head coach at Chaminade University from 2009-12.

A decorated player at the collegiate level, Rowe played four seasons at the University of Nevada from 2000-03, and is still the program's all-time leading goal scorer.
