Damacion Earns Second-Team All-Big West Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – Sophomore midfielder Nalani Damacion capped off her second year in a Hawai'i uniform by earning second-team All-Big West recognition, the conference announced Saturday.
 
Additionally, defender Eve Bleam and forward Tatum Porter received honorable mention all-conference recognition.
 
The 2024 Big West Midfielder of the Year as a freshman, Damacion finished tied for the team lead with three goals scored on the year while adding an assist – all of which came in the last seven matches of the season. She also delivered the game-winner in an Oct. 23 win at UC Davis – the eighth in her two seasons in a Rainbow Wahine uniform.
 
The Rocklin, Calif. native is now tied for third in program history in game-winning goals after matching a school single-season record with seven as a freshman in 2024.
 
Bleam led the Hawai'i back line in her final season in a UH uniform, playing all 90 minutes in each of the final 11 matches of the season. She logged 1,515 minutes on the season, playing 84.2 percent of the 1,800 possible minutes.
 
Porter led the team with nine points, scoring three goals while adding three assists in a break out season on the UH attacking line. The junior recorded seven of her nine points on the season in a three-match span from Aug. 28-Sept. 4, becoming the first Rainbow Wahine to post at least seven points in such a span since 2017 (Raisa Strom-Okimoto).

  • Put away her eighth career game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at UC Davis on Oct. 23.
  • Tied for third in UH history with eight career game-winning goals.

  • Totaled 1,515 minutes on the back line, playing all 90 minutes in each of the final 11 matches.
  • Most experienced player on the UH roster at the end of the season, leading the team with 68 career matches played and 63 starts.
  • Led a UH back line that recorded seven shutouts, the most in a season since 2016.
  • Named a team captain prior to the season.
 
Tatum Porter, Honorable Mention All-Big West, Junior, Anchorage, Alaska
 
  • Led the team with nine points, scoring three goals while adding three assists.
  • Seven of those nine points came in a three-match span from Aug. 28-Sept. 4.
  • First UH player to post at least seven points in a three-match span since 2017 (Raisa Strom-Okimoto).
  • Scored a goal and added an assist in two different matches (vs. Northern Arizona, at Sacramento State).
