HONOLULU— For the first time in her career, on Wednesday, freshman
Bia Mantellato Dias was named the Big West Player of the Week by the conference office.
Dias was an integral part of the Rainbow Wahine, finishing at 3-1 in the Triton Invitational over the weekend and finishing in third place of the stacked tournament. The Sao Palo, Brazil native tallied 11 goals over four matches, including a career-high six against Fresno State on Saturday. Dias currently leads the team in goals scored with 29, four ahead of senior
Alba Bonamusa Boix.
On top of her scoring production, Dias added an assist and a steal to her stat line, plus she drew a combined 10 exclusion penalties against the 'Bows' opponents.
Dias and the 'Bows are at the beginning of a two-week stretch of rest between matches. They're preparing for the Barbara Kalbus Tournament, set to take place from February 24-26 in Irvine, California.
