HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team opens the spring season in Sacramento, Calif., with the Causeway Invitational, Feb. 27-28 at the Del Paso Country Club.
The tournament is hosted by UC Davis and features a 12-team field, including four Big West teams. In addition to UH and UCD, other BWC teams are Cal Poly and CSU Bakersfield.
Participating for the Rainbow Wahine are
Mayumi Umezu,
Hyeonji Kang,
Focus Jonglikit,
Ting-Yu Liu, and
Monica Johnson. Umezu leads the team with a 72.9 scoring average with three Top 25 finishes during the fall season.
The tournament is UH's first competition since the Pac-12 Preview last fall. Hawai'i competed in four events during the fall season with its best showing at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational where they placed fifth.
The Del Paso Country Club features a par-72, 6,143-yard track. Participants will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
