Men's Volleyball Continues Homestand Against Long Island

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will take aim at the program's all-time home win streak record when it hosts a two-match series with Long Island, Wednesday, Feb. 22 and Friday, Feb. 24 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Warriors (11-0) have won their last 24 home matches dating back to 2021. The all-time record is 26 set from 2016-18.

FIRST SERVE
  • Hawai'i (11-0) remained undefeated with a pair of wins over Concordia last week in Honolulu while Long Island (6-4) also won both of its home matches with wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Francis to open Northeast Conference play.
  • UH leads the all-time series 3-0. The series began last season with Hawai'i taking all three matches against the Sharks in Honolulu.
  • UH is in the midst of a five-week homestand and has a 6-0 record at SimpliFi Arena this season. LIU is 4-2 on the road this season.
  • UH needs two more home wins to tie the program-record of 26 (2016-18). Hawai'i currently owns a 24-match home win streak dating back to 2021, which is the second-longest in program history.
  • UH also has a 29-match regular season home win streak since 2021.
  • Hawai'i is one of four undefeated teams remaining in NCAA Division I-II along with Grand Canyon (13-0), Charleston (13-0), and Benedict (3-0).
  • UH's current 20-match win streak dating back to last season is the longest in the country. Charleston has the next longest streak at 14 while Grand Canyon has won 13 straight.
  • UH's 20-match win streak is the second-longest in program history. The record is 25 during the 2019 season.
  • UH is 11-0 to start the season for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The 11-0 start is the sixth longest to begin a season in program history.
  • LIU played and won the first-ever match in NEC men's volleyball history last week with a straight-set win over Fairleigh Dickinson in Brooklyn, N.Y.
  • UH and LIU have played three common opponents this season with each going 3-0 against Belmont Abbey, Queens, and Saint Francis.
  • LIU has two players from the state of Hawai'i including freshman OPP/OH Kale Spencer, who sparked both wins last week — 17K/.680 hit% vs. FDU and 16K/11D vs. SFU.

PROMOTIONS
  • Central Pacific Bank is the sponsor on Wednesday and will distribute 500 rally towels prior to the match at Gate A, and award $350 in gift cards during the intermission promotional contest. Hawaiian Telcom is the sponsor of Friday's match and will distribute 300 bottles of hand sanitizer prior to the match at Gate A. There will be an autograph session with the men's volleyball team following Friday's match at Gate B. 
    • "Family Pack" Promotion: A "Family Pack" promotion is available for men's volleyball regular season home matches. With the purchase of two adult tickets, fans will receive one youth (ages 4-high school) ticket free for every youth ticket purchased (maximum of two free tickets). "Family Pack" tickets for men's volleyball can be purchased at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center Box Office in advance and or on game day.
