TULSA, Okla.—Three University of Hawai'i men's tennis players will be competing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-American Championships this weekend. Juniors Axel Labrunie, Guillaume Tattevin and 24th-ranked senior Andre Ilagan will compete in the nine-day tournament which will be held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa and Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Okla..
 
Both Labrunie and Tattevin will begin as Pre-Qualifiers beginning on Saturday, Oct. 1. They are two of 256 to be battling to advance in the prestigious tournament. If they win their Pre-Qualifying matches, they will enter the Qualifying Round of 128 on Monday, Oct. 3. Both Labrunie and Tattevin will begin in the Round of 256 playing at the University of Tulsa site at 10:30 a.m. HT. Labrunie will take on Oral Roberts' Gustavo Pinho on, while Tattevin will battle Leo Raquin of Temple.
 
After a standout junior season, Andre Ilagan enters the 2022-23 season ranked at No. 24 in the ITA's Top 125 Pre-season National Rankings. He is the only player ever from Hawai'i, and one of just 48 players selected to begin the All-American Championships in the Main Draw of 64 players which will start on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and end on Sunday, Oct. 9. Last season, Ilagan began the tourney in the Qualifying Round and proceeded to make UH history by advancing all the way to the semifinals. Along the way, Ilagan (who had entered the tourney unranked) upset six ranked players to advance farther than any previous Rainbow Warrior.
