Women's Track and Field Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honor

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their Division I Women's Track and Field All-Academic Teams on Wednesday.

Hawai'i earned a spot amongst 150 other colleges and improved their year-over-year GPA from 3.27 in 2021 to 3.35 in 2022.

Just 12 days ago, 11 track and field athletes were named Academic All-Big West for Spring 2022, the most of any spring program.

UH is coming off its best performance at a conference championship with 16 medals from nine athletes. The Rainbow Wahine also combined for the second most points ever in program history at a championship and most since joining the Big West.

Division I Track & Field All-Academic Teams
  • The cumulative GPA (not 2021-22 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
  • Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List, including the most recent grading period;
  • Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of credit hours) earned by all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List, including the most recent grading period;
  • Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.
