Wahine Water Polo head to California for First Conference Match

HONOLULU- The No.5 ranked University of Hawai'i women's water polo team heads for a two-match weekend in California, where they play their first conference match again UC Davis on Friday and stick around for a match at Pacific on Saturday.

The 'Bows are coming off a fourth-place finish led by a highly explosive offense that battled with No. 1 UCLA and No. 3 USC at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational held in Irvine. Sophomore utility Lara Luka led the squad with 15 points, including seven goals and eight assists. While freshman utility Morgan McDowall had a breakout weekend with six goals and an assist.

UH looks to bring this momentum into the first conference match of their year at Davis. Hawai'i owns a 26-6 series lead and has not lost to the Aggies in over 12 years.

Following Friday's match, UH takes a quick ride to Stockton to play the University of Pacific. The two teams have not faced each other since 2019, the Rainbow Wahine are undefeated in 25 matchups against the Tigers. The first sprint for Saturday is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. HT.
