Water Polo Hosts No. 3 USC for Home Opener with Fans for First Time in Two Years

HONOLULU- The No. 5 ranked University of Hawaii women's water polo team will be returning to the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex for their first home matches in front of fans in over two years. Their match against No. 3 USC is on Friday, March 18, and CSUN on Saturday, March 19.

"The team is really excited for the opportunity to play in front of fans at the DKAC for the first time in over two years," said Head Coach Maureen Cole. "We are looking forward to it and cannot wait to see everyone there."

The fifth-ranked Rainbow Wahine have fallen twice to the Trojans this season. Once at the Triton Invitational by a two-goal margin. The other was at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational, where the two teams battled it out for the third-place title. UH came up just short of the win, with the final score settling at 11-8. Look for top performers against USC, sophomore utility Lara Luka and senior center Elyse Lemay-Lavoie, who have combined for seven goals in the two matchups.

Hawai'i continues conference play against the Matadors, after winning their opener 13-5 last week at UC Davis. The 'Bows have historically dominated CSUN with a record of 18-1, including their 18-3 win in last month's matchup at the Triton Invitational.

Both games will be available on Spectrum Sports, with the USC match starting at 7:00 p.m. and the CSUN match at 6:00 p.m.
