GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ian Venter and
Justin Lisoway wrapped up competition against some of the world's elite swimmers at the Toyota U.S. Open Friday and Saturday.
Venter provided the highlight of the meet for the two Rainbow Warriors, qualifying for the C Final of the 100 Backstroke Friday with a time of 57.35 in the prelims. He then finished fourth in the C Final in the evening, clocking a time of 57.04.
Lisoway swam a 1:05.95 in Friday's prelims of the 100 Breaststroke, but did not qualify for either of the three finals. Venter capped off the action for the weekend by swimming a 2:07.44 in Saturday's 200 Backstroke prelims, coming up short of making one of the three finals for the event.
The full men's and women's swimming and diving squads will be back in action on Jan. 6 with a tri-meet with Air Force and TCU at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
