ATLANTA—University of Hawai'i men's diver Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo made his first appearance at the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in the 1-Meter dive at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center on Thursday.

Ramirez Tamayo finished 42nd with a total score of 257.20 after six preliminary rounds. His third dive--the reverse 2½ somersaults in the tuck position--earned his top score of the day, 58.5.

The top eight finishers of the preliminary round advanced to this evening's finals.

The championships continue on Friday, March 27th, with UH senior sprinter Karol Ostrowski competing in the 100 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle. Ramirez Tamayo will also compete in his second event of the meet.
