ATLANTA — The University of Hawai'i men's swimming and diving team's Karol Ostrowski set a new program record in the 100 backstroke and Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo competed in the 3-Meter springboard event on Day 3 of the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday at Geprgoa Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.
Ostrowski shattered the Rainbow Warrior 100 back record with a blazing time of 45.96, winning Heat 1 and finishing 39th overall. The mark eclipses his previous personal best of 47.06, set at last season's Big West Championships. With that performance, Ostrowski now holds the individual program records in the 50 free, 200 free, and 100 back—which is the most in school history.
In the 50 free, Ostrowski placed 26th with a time of 19.19, just six hundredths shy of his season-best mark, which was the fastest in the Big West this season.
On the diving side,
Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo capped his outstanding season in the 3-Meter dive, where he finished 43rd with a preliminary score of 296.10. His top dive of the day —a forward 3 ½ somersault—earned a score of 65.1.
