HONOLULU--The 2023 University of Hawai'i softball team makes its debut this week as they host their annual Fall Preseason Classic Tournament. Competing in the two day tourney are Hawai'i, Chaminade and Fullerton College. There will be three games on Friday, Nov. 11 and three games on Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine return 14 players including six returning position starters and two starting pitchers from last year's team which recorded a 23-19 overall and 17-10 Big West records as UH finished third in conference standings. Hawai'i welcomes 13 newcomers--including two junior transfers.

Brianna Lopez earned all-Big West First Team and All-Freshman team honors after posting a14-8 overall record and a 2.07 ERA with 113 strikeouts in 162.0 innings pitched. Sophomore second baseman
Maya Nakamura was named to the All-BWC Second Team after hitting a team-high .331 batting average while recording 40 hits, seven doubles, six home runs with 22 runs scored and 25 RBI.
Ka'ena Keliinoi garnered Big West Honorable Mention honors after hitting .330 with a team-high nine doubles, three doubles and 21 RBI.
