KAPOLEI, O'ahu – University of Hawai'i sophomores
Hyeonji Kang and
Mayumi Umezu are in contention at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational following Tuesday's second round at the Kapolei Golf Club.
Kang carded a 3-over 75 and is four strokes off the lead at even par 144 and tied for fourth place. Umezu is one stroke behind Kang and tied for sixth place at 1-over 145 after shooting the best round of the day for the Rainbow Wahine with a 73.
Gonzaga's Cassie Kim and Colorado State's Andrea Bergsdottir share the individual lead at 4-under 140. CSU's Sofia Torres is two strokes back at 2-under.
Colorado State is atop the team leaderboard at 1-under 575 followed by Gonzaga (583), College of Charleston (586), Fresno State (594), Sacramento State (595), and UH (600). Hawai'i is the top Big West team among the 13-team field.

The tournament concludes with the third and final round on Wednesday with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
