Track & Field Claim Top Six Finish in Season Debut

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team's strong performance led to a top 6 finish in their season debut Saturday afternoon at the Air Force Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo.
 
Sophomore Alyssa Mae Antolin backed up a solid first indoor meet where she improved her 200-meter dash time to 25.06, coming up just .09 shy from breaking the UH record. She added a reliable performance in the 60-meter dash with a final time of 7.83, netting her a 5th-place finish.
 
Senior Kristen LaCosse placed 5th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93, improving on her time from Friday of 8.95.
 
Rounding out the competition for the 'Bows was redshirt freshman Caitlin Simmons with a third-place finish in the triple jump. Simmons leaped 38' 2.25" in the event.
 
"We're super proud of how well our team competed this weekend," Boyce said. "It bodes well for the 2022 campaign. Looking forward to Spokane in two weeks!"
 
The 'Bows head to Pullman, Wash. next for the WSU Open on Friday, Feb. 4.
