COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – The University of Hawai'i women's indoor track and field team's first day of competition was highlighted by five all-time top 10 school performances.
Sophomore pole vaulter
Natasha Tehrani jump-started the impressive day with a 6th-place finish. In her collegiate debut, she posted 3.65m (11.97 feet), vaulting herself into the nine-spot all-time for UH and the highest since 2018.
Sophomore sprinter
Alyssa Mae Antolin made her mark in both the 60m and 200m. In the 60m prelims, she posted a 7.78s sprint, the fourth-fastest in UH history. Antolin followed it up in the 200m prelims, with a time of 25.18s, slotting herself second all-time in school history. As a result, she qualified for both final races, set for Saturday afternoon.
Redshirt Freshman
Caitlin Simmons leapt her way into the program's long jump history book as she posted a distance of 5.72m (18.76 feet). She is in sole possession of 5th-place all-time.
Sophomore
Montserrat Montanes i Arbo managed a 9th-place finish in throws with a 15.89m (52.13 feet) final distance, putting her at 7th-place all-time in the UH record book.
Capping off the first day of competition for the 'Bows was senior
Kristen LaCosse finishing with a solid time of 8.95s in her 60m hurdles prelims, qualifying for tomorrow's finals race.
