HONOLULU—Since taking over as the head coach of the University of Hawai'i soccer program in 2011, head coach
Michele Nagamine has pushed for her student-athletes to excel in the classroom. On Thursday, the Rainbow Wahine maintained their reputation. They received the honor of being named to the College Women's Team Academic Award list by the United Soccer Coaches for the 11th consecutive year.
To make the list, the 'Bows had to accumulate a 3.0 GPA or higher. Under Nagamine, they did it again, but what is even more remarkable is before her tenure, the program only accomplished the honor one time before in 2003.
Nagamine, associate head coach
Marc Fournier, and assistant coach
Kaula Rowe will now set their sights on the playing field as UH is scheduled to start Big West Conference play on September 23rd.
