Hawai'i softball head coach
Bob Coolen announced the signing of four players for the 2023 spring season. All four are high school senior signees, with three from California and one from O'ahu. It is the third year in a row Coolen has inked at least four recruits during the first week of the signing period.
The four recruits in the Class of 2023 are right-handed pitcher Key-annah Campbel Pu'a; first base/outfielder Ellyanna Cinzori; middle infielder Jadyn Nielsen; and lefty outfielder Cierra Yamamoto.
KEY-ANNAH CAMPBELL PU'A

- Key-annah Campell Pu'a is a 6-2, right-handed power pitcher who throws in the mid-60's with lots of potential
- Earned three varsity letters in softball for the Titans where as a pitcher went 10-3 with 82 strikeouts and a 2.56 ERA. On offense, she hit .436 with 47 hits
- Two-time first team all-league
- Was named Defensive Player of the Year
- Earned Scholar Athlete Award and was on the Honor Roll for four years
- Played for the club team Corona Angels
ELLYANNA CINZORI

- Ellyanna Cinzori is a lefty, 5-9 first base/outfielder who has a good arm, great bat speed and hits for power
- "Extra Innings" ranked her as the No. 30 first baseman of this 2022 graduating class.
- Two-year starter for the Mustangs where she earned all-league honors twice...as a junior, she had a batting average of .519, an on-base percentage of .519, a slugging percentage of .810 to go with 21 RBI.
- Has been a scholar-athlete for the last three years
- A member of the Ohana Tigers and joins current Rainbow Wahine Izabella Martinez, Lepapaina "Princess" Matavao, Piper Neri, and Casey Beaulac.
JADYN NIELSEN

- Jadyn Nielsen is 5-5 middle infielder who hits left but throws right
- Can be a power slapper as well as a power hitter from the left with speed to burn - will be a good table setter at the top of the order for the rest of the team
- On defense has excellent range and a good arm
- Earned all-league Most Valuable Player honors; Player of the Year honors and was named first team all-CIF
CIERRA YAMAMOTO

- Cierra Yamamoto is a 5-3 lefty catcher/outfielder out of Mililani HS (played first two seasons at Moanalua
- Tracks the ball very well in the outfield and on offense can hit or slap and gets the ball in play with good speed
- Four-year starter in high school and led the Trojans with a .750 batting average last season.
- Earned all-league honorable mention honors as a freshman
- Played for the California Bombers club team
- In the classroom is an honor roll student
