The University of Hawai'i track and field team will host the 2020 Rainbow Relays at the T.C. Ching Complex this Friday and Saturday. The Rainbow Wahine will host athletes from San Jose State, Portland State and Hawai'i Pacific along with public relay entries.
The Wahine hosted the second of two Sunrise meets last Saturday and officially open the outdoor season with D-I competition in San Jose State. Portland State and HPU athletes are non-scoring representatives from their universities.
Making her season debut, senior
Alexis Brenzil will officially compete against competition for the first time in 2020. The 2019 NCAA West Preliminary Round qualifier missed out on a trip to the National Championship meet by five centimeters. Brenzill will also be chasing 49.96 meters, Annett Wichmann's school record set in 2009.

Kristen LaCosse qualified for the West Preliminary Round in 2019, and LaCosse has been off to a stellar start in 2020 with a pair of individual indoor school records as well as running a leg of the new 1,600-meter indoor school record set at the MPSF Championships.

Jessica Eagle and
Rebecca DeKay have had strong indoor season's as well. Gardner holds the 600-meter run school record and also has her name on the 1,600 relay record. Gaskins has jumped well in the high jump and both freshmen Eagle and DeKay are top-10 in school history in their respective indoor events.
