NAMPA, Idaho – The University of Hawai'i track and field team finished the Boise State Challenge Saturday with strong performances from junior
Kristen LaCosse and freshman
Jessica Eagle over the two-day meet.
LaCosse ran the second-fastest 60-meter dash in school history on Friday with the second-fastest time of the meet in 7.69 seconds. Eagle also made finals in the 60 with a qualifying time of 7.83.
The junior also won the long jump by four centimeters (1.75 inches) on her final jump of the meet. LaCosse's first jump of finals would have also won the meet.
Freshman
Rebecca DeKay had Hawaii's second individual event win of the meet in the 3,000 meters. DeKay ran 15 laps around the track in 10 minutes 17.10 seconds.

Natasha Currence won the meet with a time of 3:54.46, the seventh-fastest indoor time in school history.
Sophomore
Jada Pierce set a top 10 mark in the weight throw. The Oregon-native threw the weight 15.24 meters (50 feet) to finish ninth overall.
The Wahine will take a week off from competition before heading to Seattle, Wash., for the MPSF Championships at the University of Washington Feb. 28-29.
