The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team concludes a four-game homestand with a matchup versus CSUN this Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tipoff for the game is 8:00 p.m. and will be part of a doubleheader with the women's team who face Long Beach State at 5:30 p.m.

Promotions: California Hotel & Casino is the sponsor on Saturday and will award a Vacations Hawaii trip for two to the newly renovated California Hotel & Casino to the winner of the "Shaka Nene" contest at intermission. Fans can register to participate at the sports marketing table located at Gate A.  The Majestic Culture and the Arts Association invite fans for picture taking with the Lion Dance group to celebrate Chinese New Year from 4:30p.m. located on the concourse level (Ewa Side) of the Stan Sheriff Center and they will perform a traditional Lion Dance at halftime. Also on Saturday, a special Chinese New Year's themed food menu will be featured by Sodexo.

 
Game Story Lines

• The Rainbow Warriors have gone 3-0 so far on its current homestand and have won four of its first five league games to sit a half game behind UC Irvine for first place.
• UH seeks its fourth straight win which would be its longest win streak of the year. 
• A win would give UH a tie for its best start ever in the Big West at 5-1 (also in 2016). 
• Junior point guard Drew Buggs had 11 assists in UH's win over UC Davis. He leads the Big West and ranks 25th nationally at 6.1 assists per game. 
• The Long Beach native is just 22 assists away from breaking the school's all-time assists record currently held by Troy Bowe (412).  
• UH has won eight of the last 10 meetings with CSUN, though the Matadors have come out on top in their last two trips to Honolulu.
• UH is 12-3 at home; CSUN is 3-10 on the road.
• UH is 11-0 this year when out-rebounding its opponents. UH is +34 in the last three games.
• Following its game vs CSUN, UH will play road games at UCSB (Feb. 6) and Cal Poly (Feb. 8).

• CSUN, selected third in the Big West preseason poll, is tied for third in the Big West with a 4-3 mark.
• CSUN leads the Big West in scoring offense in overall (75.0 ppg) and Big West games (75.7 ppg).
• The Matadors boast a pair of all-Big West first-team picks in Lamine Diane (27.7 ppg, 9.9 rpg) and Terrell Gomez (20.7 ppg).
• Gomez ranks second nationally in free throw percentage (.940)  and fifth in three-pointer fiedls goal per game (3.61).
• CSUN defeated UCSB, 79-67,  at home on Thursday.
