2025-26 NABC Academic Excellence

Men's Basketball

Men’s Basketball Program Gains Academic Distinction

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team not only enjoyed a stellar season on the court in 2025-26, but also in the classroom, once again earning recognition from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for its academic achievements.

The Rainbow Warriors were honored with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award as UH's roster of 13 student-athletes earned a combined 3.20 grade point average during the 2025-26 academic calendar. Each year the NABC recognizes teams that earn grade-point averages of 3.0 and higher. This is the third straight year that the Rainbow Warriors earned the distinction.

A school-record seven Rainbow Warriors earned individual accolades from the NABC as well, eclipsing the previous record of five from last year. Graduate students Dre Bullock and Tanner Cuff and upperclassman Isaac Finlinson, Isaac Johnson, Isaiah Kerr, Gytis Nemeikša, and Harry Rouhliadeff were recipients of the NABC Honors Court award. Kerr achieved the highest marks of the bunch, achieving a 3.90 GPA while pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology. Meanwhile, Nemeiksa and Rouhliadeff each gained Honors Court recognition for the second straight year as Rainbow Warriors.

To make the NABC Honors Court list, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student during the 2025-26 year and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 following the end of the spring 2026 semester.

Additionally, the men's basketball program posted a perfect single-year score of 1000 for the fourth time under the leadership of head coach Eran Ganot. The team also recorded multi-year APR scores above their sport's national average and surpassed their previous year's score by 16 points for a total of 988.

The Academic Progress Rate (APR) was introduced by the NCAA in 2003 as a comprehensive, term-by-term metric to measure the eligibility, retention, and graduation of Division I student-athletes. APR is scored out of 1000; teams are required to meet a multi-year score of 930 to qualify for the postseason.
