NAMPA, Idaho – University of Hawai'i junior
Kristen LaCosse tied the school record in the long jump at the Ed Jacoby Invitational with a jump of 5.80 meters, finishing third overall. The Rainbow Wahine closed out the invitational with strong performances across the board.

LaCosse's 5.80-meter leap tied Tasha Monroe's mark from 2005. LaCosse's previous personal best in the event was 5.37 meters indoors. The junior has jumped 5.92 meters outdoors, which ranks sixth all-time in Rainbow Wahine history. LaCosse also ran 8.69 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles in prelims and finished fifth in finals a hair slower at 8.70.
Freshman
Jessica Eagle and junior
Britney Price ran identical 7.97 second 60-meter dashes. Eagle also ran 26.16 in the 200-meter dash, the schools fastest time in Nampa.
Senior
Teuila Gardner ran the 800 meters and two 400-meter length legs of the distance medley relay and 1,600-meter relay. Gardner, along with LaCosse and senior
Natasha Currence and freshman
Tierra Sydnor, ran the fourth fastest 1,600-meter relay of the meet in 3 minutes, 55.39 seconds.
Senior
Calli-Ann Abbott had a solid day in the 60 hurdles and in the long jump as well. Running 8.85 in prelims of the hurdles and jumping 5.56 meters in the long jump.
Ten of the Wahine's 20 travelling athletes made their debuts for the Bows in Idaho. Seven of which were freshmen making their collegiate debuts.
Hawai'i will take a week off from competition before returning to the mainland for the New Mexico Collegiate Classic in Albuquerque, N.M., Feb. 7-8.
